During 1920 sit was having a flourishing economy with an increased rate of 4.43% per year and as the depression hit it mildly, it devastated the whole economy. The production fell below 20% and the employment fell below 5%. The depression also affected the local economy as can be reflected in the crisis of 6th February 1934. France put a lot of effort to recover from the depression but was not able to gain much as compared to other nations like Germany and the United States in spite of having a prior flourishing economy.
