Civil rights groups such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund represent their groups’ interests only through litigation, especially in the federal courts.

The statement is basically false, this is because Civil right group such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the Mexican American Legal Defense have a duty which entails to legalise racial discrimination, disenfranchisement and racial segregation. These interests for their group members are not only brought to the fore by litigation. They even go as far as organizing protests, and any form of social awareness to drive their points across.
