Main function of ozone is to protect the earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation that is coming from the sun. It act as a filtrate which removes the impurities and allows clean liquid. If ozone layer is damaged, this ultraviolet radiation come to the earth and causes skin disease such as skin cancer, rashes etc. The main cause of ozone depletion is the release of Chloroflorocarbon molecules which is uses in refrigerator.
