The GI bill was instituted after WW2 as an initiative to help verterans .It created low interest mortgages and established veteran hospitls while also making education more afforable and acessible. This was important because a lot og young men who had been drafter for the war hadn't had the opportunity to either graduate highschool or get a universeity education because they either werent there or couldnt afford to pay due to their low military wage .

An increase in literacy and education gave the economy a boost as it grew over 37%  during 1950. Lots of new commerce and new job oportunity arose due to an increase in eduation . Without the GI bill, most young men wouldnt have had that opportunity .

Historians believe the GI Bill to be so transformative in American education because it gave an opportunities for veteran to continue their education.
