To clear a jump a skateboarder has to increase his velocity from 4 m/s to 12 meters/second. He has only 4 seconds to do it. What must his acceleration be to make this jump?

Here the initial velocity, u = 4 m/s

   the final velocity , v = 12 m/s

time = 4 seconds

Plug in the values, we will get,

Acceleration = [tex]\frac{12-4}{4}[/tex]

                  = [tex]\frac{8}{4}[/tex] = 2 m/s²
