The surface layer of the sea is known as the epipelagic zone and stretches out from the surface to 200 meters (656 feet). It is otherwise called the daylight zone since this is the place the greater part of the obvious light exists.
There are five zones or layers in the ocean which are the following : Epipelagic Zone (Sunlight Zone), Mesopelagic Zone (Twilight Zone), Bathypelagic Zone (Midnight Zone), Abyssopelagic Zone (Abyss), Hadalpelagic Zone (The Trenches) The Hadalpelagic zone is also called the Trenches and is found from the ocean basin and below
