Answer:

Area of original Sheet of Paper is 40 x 36 = 1440 sq cm

Area of 1 square of dimension 4 cm x  4 cm = 4 X 4 = 16 sq cm

Area of 4 cut squares is 4 X 16 = 64 sq cm

Area of remaining sheet ∴ is 1440 - 64 = 1376 sq cm
