Reported speech (also known as indirect speech) is speech without quotations. Without being able to directly write what the person said, you have to change the tense and wordings of the sentence.

1) My father told me that I woke up early
2) The teacher asked the boy why he was absent yesterday
3) The chief said to shoot the criminal
4) I asked Mira to lend me her notes
5) Ashok screamed hooray, saying that he won the prize
6) The man knocking on my door asked if anybody was there
7) The principal told us that she was very happy to see us that morning
8) My mother told me not to waste my time, and to study hard.
