My friend is dating this guy that she got back together with only because he told her he would kill himself. She’s been telling me that she’s so scared of him and he’s so attached to her it’s creepy. But, issue she has to see him every year for Christmas and she can’t avoid him. So she says she will stay in the relationship so he can be happy. She’s telling me she’d rather suffer. What do I do to help her? I don’t want her to not be happy?? She told me “honestly I stopped caring about myself a long time ago” I just want her to listen and get help. She also told me that “he gives off this vibe and he’s so attached that If I leave him he may do something to me”

Your first sentence already states that this dude is manipulative and only wants this relationship for himself. Make sure to tell your parents/other friends because this is now beyond her after she dumps this dude. She has to know that she can't do it forever. All he is going to do is get more and more attached making it harder to leave. She should know that her life shouldn't be lived by somebody else's wishes. She has recklessly low self esteem that you somehow have to work up for her. She feels as if this is the only person in the world that actually cares for her and that she is wrong to leave him. Also, if something happens to this guy its not her fault that this dude is attracted to her I'm sure there are many more. She is in a toxic relationship not caused by her.

he is manipulating, and i’ve been in a relationship like this. i ended it completely, no contact after and completely blocked him afterwards. he’s still alive. just leave. it’s unhealthy.
