I am peer reviewing a girls essay and one of the sentences seems odd, is she using the word correctly? "this mystery illness has not only affected an abundance of dogs but is....."
I'm assuming from the portion of the sentence that was given that she was referring to some kind of disease or sickness that affects dogs and possibly other organisms.
