Social Darwinism is a set of ideologies that adopts and applies Darwin's laws of natural selection and survival of the fittest to societies and political systems, arguing that the "innately better" people or social groups will naturally dominate over other (less capable) people or social groups.

This ideology was used to justify imperialism and racism over the past century. The best example is Nazi Germany, leaded by Adolf Hitler who claimed the superiority of the Aryan race. When he says that "(...) He must step aside and allow stronger peoples to pass him by" he hints at underlying social darwinism.
