The Treaty of Versailles was issued in 1919, after World War I, and was a peace treaty involving a couple nations. Germany was not included in this treaty, in fact, the Treaty of Versailles is known to be the treaty that hurt and embarrassed the Germans after World War I. This treaty made it so Germany had to pay millions of dollars in debt, could now only have 100,000 soldiers with 6 navy ships, had to give all of their land gotten in World War I to France, and had to completely accept blame for the war. The Germans were very embarrassed by this, and believed that they were just as responsible for causing the war as anybody else was. This did not last very long though, as when Adolf Hitler rose into power, he broke several negotiations in the treaty. The United States did not want to be pulled in more conflict after World War I, as the war was very expensive and took a lot of time, money, effort, and resources. They believed participating in international organizations would draw them into more conflict that they did not want to get involved in.
