John Calhoun was a white supremacist who naturalized violence and supported the violation of slaves' human rights by saying it was only natural that two races, living together, one of them lived on the labor of the other (A).
For Calhoun inequality and exploration were features present in every community throughout history. Who'd be explored and who'd live on the labor of others was to be determined by physical and intellectual superiority. Thus he did not affirm resources and wealth were equally shared in the South because equality was not a positive feature for him; it was, in fact, impossible and uninteresting.
