So basically we can simplify the fraction by finding the gcf which is the greatest common factor so 14/12 both have 2 in common we simplify that by dividing by 2 so 14÷2 is 7/6 is the fraction on the left hand side and d/48 is the fraction on the right hand side so to solve for d we have to divide 336/6 whixh equals 56 as tour answer. Hoped this helped!!
[tex] \frac{14}{12} = \frac{D}{48} [/tex]

There is a method of solving proportions/ratios known as "Cross-Multiplying."

When [tex] \frac{a}{b} = \frac{c}{d} [/tex]
[tex]ad=bc[/tex] where the numbers diagonal from each other are multiplied together
(when you draw lines between the numbers you multiply, you get a "cross" or "X" shape)

Cross multiply
[tex](14)(48)=(12)(D)[/tex]

Simplify
[tex]672=12D[/tex]
[tex] \frac{672}{12} = \frac{12D}{12} [/tex]
[tex]56=D[/tex]

The answer is A. 56
