Explanation:

As per the law of inheritance both male and female are supposed to have 23 pair of chromosomes. In the 23rd pair of chromosome is where the difference arise. If it's a male it will be XY and if a female XX. Normally the X is the recessive gene and any hereditary disorder passes through the X chromosome.

In a child if male the X chromosome from the mother and Y chromosome of the father unite hence he can’t be linked to the X-linked gene inheritance. But there is a chance for the female who gets and X from the mother and X from the father. As X being recessive carries the linked gene. So a female only will be a carrier of this X-linked gene inheritance.
