Smoke is a gas and lakes are a liquid and when water evaporates it creates smoke or gas better known as water vapor.

Like I said water evaporates and creates water vapor a harmless smoke now the difference is again like I said water is a liquid and and vapor is a gas.

Lake refers to a small stream of running water.

  • Water is a colourless, odourless and tasteless liquid. The chemical formula of water is H2O. When water is heated, it evaporates into the atmosphere.

Evaporation is the transition of water into gaseous state.

  • Smoke on the other hand, is a gas or vapor given off into the atmosphere as a result of burning and smoldering. The gas from burning is usually dangerous to human health.

Therefore, lake and smoke are alike because they both give off gases and they are different because one is a liquid the original form(water) and the other is a gas(smoke) in the original form.
