The people that settled were not used to intense physical labor, were not good at agriculture, lacked hunting skills, and were not the best of fighters in case of danger. All of this resulted in immediate struggle for survival of the Jamestown settlers, and the colony soon failed and all of them either died or started living with the natives, leaving Jamestown behind as a failure.
