Apples and Their Health Benefits Have you ever heard the saying, “An apple a day will keep the doctor away”? Well, there is truth in that statement. There are many health benefits to eating apples. Here are a few of them. There has been research conducted lately that confirms the fact that apples are good for you in more ways than one. Research has shown that eating apples can lower your risk for cancer. The laboratory at the University of Cornell in Ithaca, New York has discovered that the nutrients in apples can slow the growth of colon and liver cancer cells. Another research study was conducted in Hawaii on a group that was cancer-free and a group of patients with lung cancer. They found that the group who ate apples kept the risk of lung cancer low. The nutrients in apples contain many benefits, however, this is one benefit you will want to remember.
