Many birds migrate through our state. Residents are visited by a wide variety of our feathered friends. Depending on the time of year, residents may be treated to visits from anything from a hummingbird to a goose. To help the birds on their journeys, people should set up their yards to accommodate the birds.

The reason is because they are suggesting that, since it will be a record number, more people should do their part in helping.

The second seems to be C: in the body where counterclaims are addressed, but there doesn't seem to be enough context in my opinion. The statements almost make no sense.
