A box filled with 2 red cards , 2 green cards , and 14 yellow cards. A card is chosen at random from the box. What is the probability that it is red or a yellow card? Write answer as a fraction in simplest form.

Your probability of a red is 2 out of 18.

Probability of a yellow is 14 out of 18.

Together it is 16 out of 18 or, in simplest form, 8/9.
