Which of the following statements from "Letter from Birmingham Jail" does NOT specifically help Dr. King to establish credibility with the white clergymen?
Question 6 options:

... just as the Apostle Paul left his village of Tarsus and carried the gospel of Jesus Christ to the far corners of the Greco Roman world, so am I compelled to carry the gospel of freedom beyond my own town.

My Dear Fellow Clergymen:

While confined here in the Birmingham city jail, I came across your recent statement calling my present activities "unwise and untimely."

I have the honor of serving as president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, an organization operating in every southern state, with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

Respuesta :

I would say that whatever comes next, the second one doesn't help him cross bridges. King is going to set the stage for a You said they said kind of argument which hardly ever gets anyone anywhere.

The first one is fine. It's just two allusions to the Bible which help King justify his reasons for spreading his ideas. The comparison might be a bit harmful, but maybe not as bad as the second one.

The third one just states a fact. He may be flaunting his status and if he is, that's not going to help matters. This is a colored organization: it may offend the white population. It shouldn't but it might. King really is just stating a fact.

I'd still pick B, but don't be surprised if it is C.
