Here work done against gravity is given by

here we know that weight of the block will be

[tex]H = 0.20 m[/tex]
[tex]W_g = 15(0.20) = 3J[/tex]
now we will say
[tex]W_{total} = W_{friction} + W_g[/tex]
as we know that total work
[tex]W_{total} = 4J[/tex]
[tex]4 = 3 + W_{friction} [/tex]
[tex]W_{friction} = 4 - 3 = 1J[/tex]
so work done against friction is 1 J
