All of the poems you read in this unit were written from a male point of view. How are women seen or valued in these poems? What is your opinion about it? How do you think it compares with the concept of being feminine in the Middle Ages? poems Shakespeare’s sonnets, Donne’s “A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning”, and Jonson’s “Song: To Celia”.

Respuesta :

From these poems of Shakespeare, Donne's and Jonson's we can see that women are seen like treasures. Women in the Middle Ages were a delicate figure, they were treated like crystal, something easily broken. This figure also matches their clothes, their attitude, what they were allowed to say in public, their manners.

The idea of the woman is nowadays very different from that concept, now women are powerful and have the same civil rights as men have. They are free to have an opinion and expose it. Women are now a strong figure.
