Which group was the main target of violence in Haiti following the revolution

Respuesta :

The Haitian revolution was a social and political event led by self-liberated slaves against French Colonial rule in the territory that was known as Saint Domingue. It started on August 22nd, 1791 and ended in 1804 with the territory's independence.

After the revolution, the country's population was divided into 3 groups:

  1. "Les Blancs" or White People.
  2. "Les Genes de coleur libres" or Free Persons of Color.
  3. African Born Slaves

This last group was the main target of violence, as the mortality rate among the people belonging to this group was high. This made plantation owners to constantly import slaves from other territories.
