The answer is A. But this app wants me to type a long sentence so I’ll just say it is A again.

Answer: A) a young African-American male training to become a mechanic.

Booker Taliaferro Washington was a Black American an author, an intellect and an educator, whose extensive contribution to the African-American community and the American society at large was very significant and highly respected and influential among the American Presidents. Having being part of the last generation of black American leaders born into slavery, he quite understood that his, had to be a role of a  leadership, developing a dominant  voice for former slaves and their descendants. He sought always for long time and permanent solutions to counteract the discriminatory and disenfranchisement policies of the Southern states of between late 19th and early 20th century without necessary being confrontational.

Being one of the co-founders of the National Negro Business League, during a period of lynchings in 1895, he advocated for solutions through the education and entrepreneurship program of the black community in his famous "Alabama Compromise" speech where he was able too gather the support of other community black leaders, the middle-class black society, white philanthropists and politicians emphasizing the support for a long-term goal for youths thus building the community's economic strength and pride by a focusing on self-help and schooling.
