One of the main problems in this play, Antigone, is the fact that Creon values loyalty to state and civil laws far more than that to human laws. Antigone wants to give her brother a proper burial rather than to leave his body to rot somewhere in a field, but Creon is against that because he is considered to be a traitor.
Ultimately, his strict adherence to his laws leads to everyone dying and the play ending in a tragedy.
