To add the polynomials we need to add the like terms, by like terms we understand that the terms with the same exponent of the variables.

So in this case,

We will add the coefficients of [tex]x^2, x[/tex], and constants separately, we get:

[tex](4+3)x^2+(-4-3)x+(-3-5)=7x^2+(-7)x+(-8)=7x^2-7x-8[/tex]

Similarly, for the polynomials [tex](4x^2-4x-3)-(3x^2-3x-5)[/tex]

We will subtract the coefficients of like terms, we get:
