You just use the top (numerator) and bottom (denominator) numbers from the fraction.

Divide 96 by 8 to split up the day:

96 / 8 = 12

Then to work out how much she makes, multiply by 3:

12 * 3 = 36

Therefore, she makes $36 in 3/8 of a day.
