The huns most likely did not invade Xiongnu, a tribe who lived on the steppes of eastern Asia near modern-day Mongolia because they might of been related. Hope it helps

This groups were  nomadic warriors who terrorized much of Europe and the Roman Empire around the 4th and  5th century A. D.

There is a theory that the Huns are related to the Xiongnu, who were a Mongolian people  and that they came later that the Xiongnu but is not verified yet.
