He believed that Stability of the economy was possible by introducing strong tariffs that were aiming in protection of American goods from foreign competition, boosting the infrastructure such as roads and canals that will accelerate the transportation of goods and the formation of a National Bank that will ensure the use of a common currency. These efforts were geared towards the protection of the trade in America and also the manufacturing industry from cheap foreign goods especially those from the British.
