In the field of medicine Muslim doctors and scholars prove to be a large influence in the advancement of healthcare and the discovery of remedies for various diseases.

Among the many accomplishments of Muslim physicians, we find for example, the differentiation between smallpox and measles, as well as diagnosing diseases such as the plague, diphtheria, leprosy, rabies, diabetes, etc..

Muslim doctors were also pioneers in performing surgeries such as amputations and cauterizations. They were also early adopters of alternative medicine such as aromatherapy.

They were also well known to spread their knowledge of discoveries in the way of manuscripts which provided a visual record of treatments and the human anatomy.

The contributions of Muslim scholars, doctors and physicians can be seen today not only in the modern field of medicine but also in our knowledge and understanding of our own well being.
