What was the difference between a Puritan and a Separatist?

b. Puritans wanted to change the church from within, and Separatists wanted to leave the church.

The Puritans did not like the hierarchy and the ceremony of the Anglican Church.  They wanted to reform it from within.  However, the Puritans were not radical enough to want to split away from the Church of England. The Separatists on the other hand wanted to form a separate church.
