Carol Dweck is a professor of Social Psychology at Stanford University since 2004. She is known because of her work on the mindset psychological trait.
She advices parents to stop prasing their children and to stop telling them how smart they are and, instead, teach them how to value effort, how to feel commitment towards challenges, how to feel intrigue for overcoming the obstacles, and passion for learning. In this way, we will avoid to raise children heavily dependent on praise and, on the contrary, they will know how to repair their confidence when necessary.
