The surface areas of two similar solids are 1008 cm2 and 1372 cm2. The volume of the larger solid is 1801 cm3. Find the volume of the smaller solid. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.

Ratio of the dimensions = 1008^(1/2) to 1372^ (1/2)

so the ratio of the volumes is 1008^3/2 to 1372^3/2 = 32003 to 50819.6 = 1 to 1.58796

Therefore the volume of the smaller solid = 1801 / 1.58796

= 1134.16 cm^3 (answer)
