Respuesta :
2x+3y=6
X+4y=-2
You have to make the x have the same numbers, so you have to multiply by the opposite. This means; 1(2x+3y=6)
2(x+4y=-2)
2x+3y=6 2x+8y=-4
Now subtract inorder to have y only.
2x-2x=0 3y-(+8)=-5y 6-(-4)=10
-5y=10
-y=2
Y=-2
To find x, substitute y in any of the first equations given
2x+3(-2)=6
2x-6=6
2x=6+6
2x=12
X=6
Y=-2 X=6
To see if I am correct, substitute x and y in any of the first equations
X+4y=-2
6+4(-2)=-2
6-8=-2
-2=-2
Substitute in the other equation also to be sure.
