13/19 - (-1/19)

2 negatives become positive

so

13/19 - (-1/19)
13/19  + 1/19
= 14/19

Answer
14/19
Hi!

Subtracting a negative number is the same as adding a positive number.

So we can write this as
[tex] \frac{13}{19} + \frac{1}{19} [/tex]
We don't have to do anything to the denominators, but we do have to add the numerators.
13 + 1 = 14

The answer is [tex] \frac{14}{19} [/tex]

Hope this helps! :)
