Please help me solve this i have no idea
What value of x satisfies the equation 3(x – 4) + 12(x – 9) = 4x + 13?
Here is the choices, please explains how you got it.
-9 8/11
2 4/11
12 1/11
-5 13/19

Respuesta :

Simplify both sides of the equation

3(x-4)+12(x-9)=4x+13

Distribute

(3)(x)+(3)(-4)+(12)(x)+(12)(-9)=4x+13

3x+-12+12x+-108=4x+13

Combine like terms

15x+-120=4x+13

15x-120=4x+13

Subtract 4 from both sides

15x-120-4x=4x+13-4x

11x-120=13

Add 120 to both sides

11x-120+120=13+120

11x=133

Divide both sides by 11

11x/11=133/11

x=133/11

or x= 12 1/11

I hope that's help !
