The pancreas is responsible for producing mixes of enzymes that are called pancreatic juice. This juice neutralizes acidic chyme that enters the small intestines. The pancreatic juice is responsible for helping the digestive system to digest proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.

Pancreas is the organ responsible for the breakdown of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. They are responsible for the absorption of nutrients within the small intestines that produce enzymes for further breakdown of ingested nutrients. It is an exocrine organ that is part of the digestive system which produces hormones like insulin, glucagon, somatostatsin, and pancreatic polypeptide that are found in the blood.
