Okay so the first great awakening is hence the name when people started to realize the king wasn't their ruler and god was. When the first great awakening happened they started to rebel against the king. (ex. Tea act, stamp act etc.) The colonies would still be under Britain's taxes and government if they hadn't yet realize god was their main key not the king, HOPE I HELPED:)
